The Skymaster Memorial Trophy is a scholarship awarded in memory of Maryedith Adikes. This scholarship shall be awarded to a high performing academic student who exemplifies sportsmanship. Riders' applications should include a recommendation letter from their coach.

The Mason E. Phelps Jr. Memorial Scholarship has been created to honor Mason’s lifelong commitment to the equestrian community and philanthropy. Mason lived his life always thinking of others and we are proud to establish the award to recognize an IHSA student who makes giving back a priority.

The Naomi Blumenthal Horsemanship Scholarship has been created to honor Naomi’s immeasurable contribution to the IHSA as well as her lifelong dedication to horsemanship and learning. For than more than 40 years, Naomi served the IHSA as a coach, show manager and secretary, regional president, zone chair and executive treasurer. She was dedicated to teaching and sought to support dedicated individuals who were looking to establish a career within the horse industry as a trainer, judge, steward, show manager, facility manager and more.

The IEF invites coaches to nominate a rider from their team in honor of the late Jon Conyers. The nominee must be a freshman or sophomore in his or her first year competing in Introductory, Beginner Horsemanship, Pre-Novice, Novice or Rookie Horsemanship; be a full-time IHSA undergraduate member in good standing; display a passion for horses, strive for excellence and demonstrate financial need. Conyers competed as an undergraduate IHSA rider, instructed and coached for numerous college programs; served as a member of the IHSA board of directors for many years in a variety of capacities, including as a regional president, zone chairperson, director of alumni, director-at-large and National Horse Show manager.

This award was established in honor of Bob Anthony, a legendary horseman and NRHA Hall of Fame inductee. Anthony was a competitor, trainer, and judge who won six NRHA World Championships.
Coaches should nominate a rider from their team. The student must be a full-time undergraduate IHSA member in good standing, compete in Open Reining throughout the year and demonstrate financial need.

The Mika McKinney scholarship looks to recognize an IHSA student who identifies as a person of color or a first-generation college student and who embodies Mika's love, passion, and dedication to the sport of equestrian. This scholarship is reserved for current IHSA riders in Zone 1 Region 3.
