naomi blumenthal Memorial horseman Scholarship
The Naomi Blumenthal Horsemanship Scholarship has been created to honor Naomi’s immeasurable contribution to the IHSA as well as her lifelong dedication to horsemanship and learning. For than more than 40 years, Naomi served the IHSA as a coach, show manager and secretary, regional president, zone chair and executive treasurer. She was dedicated to teaching and sought to support dedicated individuals who were looking to establish a career within the horse industry as a trainer, judge, steward, show manager, facility manager and more.
This award looks to recognize an IHSA student who meets one or more of the following criteria:
- Demonstrates a commitment to their IHSA team
- Dedicated to proper horsemanship
- Takes an active role in the management of his/her team’s IHSA horseshow (E.g.: secretary, gate person)
- Participates actively in the management of horses and/or riding facility
- Pursuing a career within the horse industry (E.g.: judge, show steward, trainer, show manager)
The award winner will receive a scholarship from the Intercollegiate Equestrian Foundation.
